Official Rules
Effective August 31, 2011
How to Enter. You may enter a CityGolfTour (“CGT”) tournament by registering (requires annual fee) and paying the entry fee to the tournament you are interested in playing. By registering, you fully and unconditionally agree to the CGT’s Terms of Use, including these Official Rules. You must possess a verifiable USGA Handicap and play on a USGA santioned course.
The annual registration for CityGolfTour.com covers 12 months from the date of membership payment. CGT's tournaments shall run March through October or November of each year with a guaranteed minimum of 8 tournaments during that time (more to be added as the # of players increases).
Tournaments will be open to up to 156 players. If a tournament has to close prematurely, such as for technical problems or lack of reaching the minimum number of players (100), the tournament will be cancelled. In the case of cancellation, CGT will refund all entry fees for that tournament or allow the players to enter a future tournament in lieu of a refund, at CGT’s discretion. Each player must be at least 18 years old and possess a verifiable USGA handicap. Handicaps are currently verified through GHIN, Stracka or EZLinks. (If you would like us to add another handicapping service – send the request & web address to CGT for verification.)
You must post your current Handicap on the CityGolfTour.com site (the “Site”) prior to posting a score to a tournament.
Each round for each tournament must be played in the United States on a USGA sanctioned golf course with slope and course ratings. (Some Canadian courses are USGA santioned but must be preapproved by CGT prior to use in a tournament). When posting a score to a CGT tournament, players must verify that the course they play and our course info of slope, rating, & par match. If they do not match – the player must notify CGT. CGT will verify the correct information and update the site, if needed. (To add a course – send the course information to CGT for verification.)
Each player posts his or her gross score to a CGT tournament. The tournament score must also be posted to the player’s handicap index on www.GHIN.com, www.Stracka.com, or another approved site, to be considered a valid entry. We realize this score may show up differently on your handicap site if you are applying ESC (Equitable Stroke Control).
Winners will be subject to handicap, score, date, and course verification by CGT.
If it is found that the player has posted a score for a CGT tournament that was not also used for his or her USGA handicap, not given his or her correct USGA handicap, or in any other way knowingly enters the tournament with incomplete or inaccurate information, the player shall be subject to immediate sanction as determined by CGT in its sole discretion, including but not limited to terminating the profile, blocking access to the Site, removal from any tournaments entered, forfeiture of any entrance fees or prizes to which the player may have otherwise been entitled, and prohibition from opening a new profile or otherwise participating in any tournament.
Tournaments will begin on the start date posted on the CGT site at 12:01 am PST (Pacific Standard Time) and end on the end date posted on the CGT site at 12:00 midnight PST.
Each player is allowed to post 1 score per tournament. A score cannot be changed, updated, or revised once it is posted.
Each player can play in as many tournaments as he or she wants, however the same round cannot be used more than once, i.e., if you want to participate in tournaments that overlap dates, you’ll have to play one round for each separate tournament.
The round in consideration for the CGT tournament you have entered must be played during the dates of the tournament, i.e. if you register for a tournament for 8/1 - 8/15, you can only use a round that you play during those dates.
If a player enters a CGT tournament but does not post a score on our site by the end of the tournament, the player forfeits the entry fee.
